Starting off 2026 on a good note! Kurt and I were origionally planning on driving out to Mercer County, PA, however; while we were driving down the turnpike and not getting any responses from the dispatcher, we decided to abandon the trip and head to Munroe Falls for this classic 2001 at the fire station! Even still, we were slightly hesitent they would test as I tried calling the police department, but Cuyahoga Falls give you some AI pre recorded voice message thing. Funny enough, I got an auto reply like 20 minutes later confirming the sirens would be tested which was pretty funny, but hey, they tested! I've always wanted to film this one as the still intact FS logo I think makes it look pretty sweet. Despite being in Munroe Falls, this siren is controlled by neighboring Cuyahoga Falls which hosts a system of numerous 2001-SRNBs. Right at 10 this one fired right up! We figured after the normal 30 seconds the test would be done (as thats what the test duration has always been), but were starteled when it fired back up again for another cycle! I have no clue why it went again, but my only theory is CF switched dispatch centers and are now controlled thru Tallmadge, so maybe it's automated testing now? Not really sure if it was a one off, or the new norm. Anyways, enjoy!
