Certified health professionals working in the field of addiction, alcohol and drug dependency, or substance abuse prevention, can be investigated by, or have disciplinary action, initiated against them by the Florida Certification Board.
Board Certified Health Law Attorney George Indest says:
"Investigations can include misconduct complaints, allegations of professional standards violations and sexual misconduct, allegations of fraud-related conduct, exploitation of consumers, summary suspension of certification, negotiation of consent orders, ethics investigations, and appeal hearings."
As soon as you hear that there may be a complaint made against you, you should immediately contact an attorney experienced in dealing with the Florida Certification Board.
Indest recommends you don't make any statement, written or oral, to anyone, including an investigator from the Florida Certification Board, until you have talked to your own attorney. Any statement you make can and will be used against you.
The attorneys of the Health Law Firm represent health care providers. They know how important the field of health care is to you. That's why they focus on helping clients protect their licenses, preserve their careers and grow their businesses.
