Ingredients
Shallots -20 to 21 nos
Garlic - 7 to 8 nos
Grated coconut - 1 1/2cup
Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Tamarind - small ball.
Dry red chilli - 2 to 3 nos
Mustard seed - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 or 2 tsp
Oil - 1 or 2 tsp
Method
Peel the shallots and wash them well and set aside.
Then chopped the shallots and green chilli into small pieces
Heat a pan add grated coconut and Fennugreek seed
Then add chopped garlic shallots and curry leaves.
Saute them well till they become light golden brown
Add red chilli powder and coriander powder ,saute them well for few minutes and set aside.
Remove from fire and transfer it into a bowl.
Take a bowl add tamarind and water soak for few minutes.
Grind the roasted grated coconut into fine paste and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed ,let them spluttered
Add dry red chilli and chopped shallots ,saute them well.
Then add curry leaves and saute them well.
Squeezed the tamarind and water pour it into the cooking pan
Then sprinkle some salt and stir them well.
Cover and cook for few minutes.
Remove the lid and pour the mixture into the curry pan
Again cover and cook them well for for few minutes.
Remove the lid and set aside.
Serve the tasty Kunjulli theeyal with steamed rice.
