In the previous episode, we gutted this room down to the studs and removed the entire floor all the way to the crawlspace. In this episode, we take on the challenge of lowering the floor in a poorly built extension so it can match the rest of the house. What should have been simple quickly turns into a lesson in bad construction, termite damage, and questionable past decisions.

As we dig into the framing, we uncover structural issues, evidence of termites, and shortcuts that explain why this extension never felt right. Step by step, we assess the damage, figure out how to correct the floor height, and finally begin rebuilding things the right way.

Despite the setbacks, we end this episode on a high note by framing our very first piece of new flooring, marking a major milestone in bringing this house back to life.

I bought a property that had been abandoned for about 2 decades. Everything is overgrown and falling apart... The abandoned shop was full of old tools and abandoned hot rod parts. The roof is in disrepair.... so at the least this is a diy roofing project. We have plenty of r panel metal roofing to do it... but is the structure of the truss salvageable. here goes another one man repair project
