On 15 December, Forrest Hall was abuzz with curiosity and wonder for the event Heart vs. Mind: What makes us human? Joined by academics, medical researchers, and many with a general interest, David Paterson shared insights into the philosophy and biology of the human heart.
Professor David Paterson of the University of Oxford and alumnus of The University of Western Australia delivered this public seminar as he visited Perth to receive an honorary doctorate in December 2023.
The proceedings were guided by Livia Hool from Wesfarmers, UWA - Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Chair in Cardiovascular Research.
Co-hosted by Forrest Research Foundation, the event was lead and hosted by Lucy Furfaro, Forrest Alumnus and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Emerging Leadership Fellow, UWA.
