Utah prison system grappling with inmate tattoo violations, 2News finds 1,917 infractions

Описание: More than nineteen hundred Utah prison inmates were under investigation for either getting tattoos or giving tattoos behind the confines of prison in the last three years, a 2News Investigation found.

In an effort to find out how pervasive the problem is, we requested inmate disciplinary records from the Utah Department of Corrections. We were able to find out how many inmates are guilty of this infraction, their names, and their punishment for violating prison rules. We also tried to find out how much it costs taxpayers for UDC staffers to investigate incidences of tattooing and carry out subsequent disciplinary actions against the offenders. The answer to that question is harder to pin down.
