Lamento (Op. 90) | Alexandre Guilmant (1837-1911)

Описание: A beautiful introspective Piece from Guilmant written in C minor. I used the registration as advised by Guilmant. The first Solo part is oboe + soft flute 8, second solo voice is the same with an added Principal 16’. The accompaniment consists of light strings. For the pedal I hesitated between the bourbon 8 and subbas 8. At the end I chose the slightly louder subbas to get a bit of “Umph” in the descending bass-lines.

This piece is incredible beautiful and incredible well composed. Pay extra attention to the chord progressions in the left hand, those are really amazing! The composer has worked with resonances in a very clever way. I love it.

For the best listening experience, I recommend using headphones, earbuds, or a hi-fi set. The sound dynamics of the pipe organ are truly remarkable and can be fully appreciated with high-quality audio equipment.
