Описание: Join me at Osaka, one of my favourite Nikkei restaurants in Lima, Peru. Most people don’t know how rich the Japanese culinary influence is in Peru. Let me introduce you to Nikkei Cuisine, the Japanese-Peruvian fusion sensation!

Peru has the second largest Japanese population in South America. Japanese immigrants first began to settle on Peru's coastline in the late 19th century after a treaty was signed between the two nations. Thousands of Japanese came by boat to work as indentured servants and agricultural migrant labourers in sugar plantations on coastal haciendas. With the intent of recreating Japanese dishes using local ingredients, Nikkei cuisine was born.

A notable champion of Nikkei is Nobu Matsuhisa, who has been showcasing Nikkei food in his famous Nobu restaurants throughout the world.

Osaka Restaurant has various locations worldwide. I went to the one located in the San Isidro district in Lima, Peru.
