Tongariro Northern Circuit Winter | New Zealand

Описание: In August 2023 I went hiking in the Tongariro National Park, New Zealand. I hiked the Tongariro Northern Circuit trek of 44km over three days. As this was during winter, extra gear had to be taken with me like crampons and an ice axe.

The first day (9km over 3 hours) saw me hike from Whakapapa village to Mangatepopo Hut where I spent the night. On the second day (19km over 12 hours) I got up early and hiked over the Red Crater, past Oturere Hut and finished at Waihohonu Hut. The third and final day (16km over 5 hours) was an easy hike back to Whakapapa village with one stop next to the Lower Tama Lake.
