In today’s video challenge, I tried stretching for 5 days straight with the expert help of olympic gymnast Sam Peszek. If you don’t know Sam, she's a 2008 Summer Olympics Silver Medal champion! You MUST check out her gymnastic videos on YouTube! They are SO cool!

As you know I am always looking for fun new 5-day challenges to try. It was a major 2020 goal of mine to become more flexible, so when one of you suggested that I try stretching like an Olympic gymnast for 5 days, I knew I had to take on the challenge.

I enlisted Sam’s help to put together a full five day stretching plan in the hopes of Increasing my flexibility and learning how to stretch like a true Olympic gymnast. If you've ever wondered what an Olympic gymnast does to gain flexibility or what the best stretching routine for splits is... watch this video!

We created a daily stretching plan and broke up the week into stretching for flexibility in ankles and toes, flexibility exercises for shoulders, stretches for splits (middle split, left leg split and right leg split), and pike stretches. Use this video as a stretching guide / stretching routine from a professional or just watch it for pure entertainment purposes!

While I only did these stretches for 5 days straight, I know that if I stretched for 30 days straight, for 10-15 minutes a day, I could increase my flexibility tenfold! I definitely plan on keeping up this gymnastics stretching routine because it is still a goal of mine to get a split and I am more hopeful than ever that I can do it!
