A 2020 randomized trial reported no difference in 90-day mortality among patients 65 years or older with vasodilatory hypotension randomized to vasopressor treatment to a mean arterial pressure (MAP) target of 60-65 mm Hg (permissive hypotension) vs treatment at the clinician’s discretion.
Francois Lamontagne of the Universite de Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada, presented findings from the 65 Trial at the Critical Care Reviews 2020 meeting (CCR20), on January 17 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
