Post-intensive care syndrome, or PICS, is very common among ICU survivors, who often have physical, cognitive, or mental health symptoms after ICU discharge. However, there is a lack of awareness of PICS among patients and healthcare providers. This film documents the story of Ken, an ICU survivor who developed PICS. It features interviews with two clinicians and researchers, Dr Brad Butcher and Dr Jo McPeake, to explore what PICS is, what causes it, and ways to help patients being discharged from critical care.
