Before "American Idol" and "The Voice".. there was Star Search. My competitor was Jeanie Tracy,.. she beat me by .25 points. I was SCARED to death, I had just graduated from college two months earlier, it was recorded in August of 1984 and aired a year later. I flew to Los Angeles by myself, SOoo incredibly naive and wish someone had said during my performance.. feel free to walk down the plank in front of you.. I was too frightened to do anything, because I had no idea how TV worked.. My brother recorded this on a VHS, thus while the tape is SO bad and all the double images..

My good friend from college, Ty Herndon was on the year before me
and helped me get an audition. I had to provide a 3 song demo tape and
headshot to the production company. By the time this show aired a year later,
I was already on the road singing BGV's for David Meece. Great memories of a time gone by!
