MASSIVE! Tycoon Arcade (Manchester NH), 4K arcade walkthrough & tour, October 2024

Описание: Tycoon Arcade is an amazingly awesome location up in Manchester, New Hampshire! It's an offshoot of the board game publisher Tabletop Tycoon, well known for their hit game Everdell. This combines a storefront with plenty of board games for sale as you enter, and walking through brings you to the absolutely MASSIVE space in the back with dozens of pinball machines, classic retro games, modern shooters, rhythm games, and a small selection of redemption games. They have been going through some changes since their inception and soft launch, and while they originally debuted as a pay-per-play coin drop arcade with tokens, this has since changed; now, a $19.99 fee ($9.99 for kids 8-15, and FREE for kids 7 and younger!) gets you in the door and able to play about 90% of the games on the floor for free. That includes all the pins, 80's games, and much more. Pretty much the only things that you still have to pay-per-play for are the redemption games, which, y'know, understandable. But it's very clear that these redemption games are NOT the primary focus here, and even more noble, all proceeds from these games get donated to the Toys For Tots charity!

I had been looking forward to visiting this place for several months, and I have to say, it didn't disappoint. However, I would be remiss in not mentioning the fact that a large portion of their games collection (primarily the older pinball machines) was inaccessible for the time being. As I noted earlier, they've been going through some changes. One of those things is that this is apparently only a temporary space, as they are looking to move into a new location in 2025. Another thing is that it seems as if due to the sheer number of machines they had, keeping all the games on was becoming far too expensive. So as it stands, for now, about 50% of their pinball collection is off the main floor, and sitting behind locked doors. You can still see some of those just from peeking through the windows. Even with that being the case, they still had over 4 dozen different pins out on the floor, including some of the latest releases such as Avatar: The Battle For Pandora by Jersey Jack and P3's Multimorphic platform release, The Princess Bride. I was personally not expecting to find both a StepManiaX and DDR Extreme cab in there, so that was a very nice surprise!

Overall, if you are ever in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in and checking this place out, and I can't wait to visit them again in the future at their new spot once it opens!
