Tilt Studio @ Valley Mall (Hagerstown MD), 4K arcade walkthrough & tour, June 2024

Описание: In the past, I've described the Willow Grove branch of Tilt (there called Tilted 10) as a Bizarro-realm Round1. This still feels apt when visiting the Tilt Studio location at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, MD. There's a lot of redemption games, but also a decent mix of experiential video game attractions -- most notably a full 6 player setup for Sega's Indy 500, with the full motion race cars and all -- alongside a mix of fighting games, retro classics, a small selection of rhythm games (not one but TWO DDR Extreme cabs back to back!), and a wall with a mix of modern and old school pinball machines. Oh yeah, and a food service counter, a mini golf course, and what the hell, an amusement park ride or two just for the heck of it all. This place is wild, but honestly, like many of these major chain arcades, the maintenance is constantly lacking. Several machines were either in poor shape or just outright not working, and if we ran into any issues with them, they'd just offer to scan us in on another machine instead of refunding credits (and would then leave the machine on for other people to discover that it's eating credits). It's a shame, because this selection is really good otherwise, but the poor maintenance and management at this particular location doesn't really make me want to come back again in the future.
