In this talk, I present DP-HLS, a hardware–software co-design framework for accelerating dynamic programming (DP) algorithms in bioinformatics using High-Level Synthesis (HLS). I discuss the motivation, system architecture, design methodology, and experimental results, highlighting performance, scalability, and resource optimization on FPGA platforms.
This work was presented at HPCA 2026 and is part of my PhD research at UCSD, focusing on custom hardware-software acceleration for bioinformatics and AI workloads.
