My first time ever having authentic "Lu" (Pig's Blood Soup w/Herbs), and I have to say... Uncle Thong is a genius! Welcoming (ourselves) back to Chiang Mai with an all-out lunch of local food, learn about some new tips and tricks, but also get super excited about all the old favorites as well - Uncle Thong's restaurant is Amazing.
I am literally blown away with how DELICIOUS this dish is, what a pleasant surprise! Not the first visit to this restaurant, and after today I literally cannot wait to return (but, we have to wait 14 days, because its May 2021 and... yeah). We were lured in by Uncle's smile, and his home grill brimming with pork intestines (a Northern Thai favorite) but I never imagined they could do EVERY Northern dish so well - it really is a stand-alone restaurant that could be used as your "One-stop Shop for Every Northern Thai Classic" - this restaurant is THAT good!
I hope you had a blast with Li and I today, we were so excited to return to this place, and honestly so lucky finding out upon arrival that there was going to be no more restaurant visits for (at least) the next 2 weeks.
