Japanese title translates itself as “The Tragedy of Ryūhyōkan. I liked it a lot and I find it really interesting and amazing. Besides its shortness it’s still very hard and fun to play. The first times it looks weird, since I had to look on internet for instructions for how to play this game.
On screen you notice a group of penguins moving clockwise. The aim of this game is to check who’s the killer of other penguins.
Controls:
cross: move cursor
B: select the imposters in cursor (penguins change color from green to fucsia)
A: change the direction they’re moving to
Start: once selected the right number asked by the level, game tells you which penguin is correct and which one is not, with a character never seen in any famicom game.
Select: it does nothing
(Controls struggle to respond in this game, it’s easy to get pissed off while playing it)
If you guessed all the right killers, you advance to the next level.
You lose a life in 3 ways:
1) When you guessed the wrong imposter
2) When all innocent penguins are killed
3) When time expires.
On the top of the screen there’s indicated:
1) The score (スコア) I wonder why not “トクテン”
2) The chances (チャンス)
3) The murderers (サツジンキ)
4) The time (タイム) I wonder why not “トキ”
In the サツジンキ section, the left number stands for the amount of imposters in the level, while the right number stands for the total amount of penguins do you start a level in game.
Clearly the penguins come from Binary Land for Famicom and the crab at the center of the screen is from Mario Bros game series. There is even a hack of this game called Among Us with different characters instead of penguins and translated into English.
