Why power substations are seen as prime targets for attacks

Описание: A man who authorities say drove a rental car through a secured gate at the Boulder City Power Substation and then died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head has raised new concerns about the vulnerability of critical infrastructure, even as officials reported no evidence of major damage to the facility.

Metro identified the suspect as 23-year-old Dawson Maloney.

Retired Sgt. Ashton Packe said the incident could have been far worse and questioned what motivated Maloney to travel from Albany, New York, to Boulder City, Nevada.
