Описание: This video is a tutorial for beginners covering the workflow through Outfit Studio for modifying a clothing or armor mesh. It is the second of four videos designed to provide a detailed explanation of the workflow so you will be set up for future success. This outfit workflow is specifically aimed at using Outfit Studio as your 3D modeling tool, essentially replacing Blender for the mesh work to get a new NIF out the other side. I will not be covering how to make meshes BodySlide compatible; you can find a number of videos by other creators that walk through that in detail.

We will be using the Skyrim female archmage robes to demonstrate how to import a mesh, delete a mesh piece, delete vertices, and export the modified outfit as a new NIF file. I will also provide some cautionary statements about things you need to be aware of when deleting meshes or vertices - in particular, the hard requirement that all deletions must be identical between the size 0 and size 1 files. (I’ll show you two examples of what happens if they are not.)

This video is intended for beginners, so I will be going slow and explaining in detail. Also note that I have set up a demo mod called “Simply for Practice” that is intended to be a companion to this tutorial series. You can find the mod on the Nexus, and the link is provided below. It uses assets from several of Petrovich’s LE mods (UNP Simply Clothes, UNP Leather Clothes, and DG High Heels); please head over to their original mod pages (links provided on demo mod page) and endorse them if you enjoy using my demo mod.

NOTE: If you tried to put the new meshes we made in this video into your game, and you ended up with a bald head (like in the video) or invisible parts of the body, you probably have the same compatibility issue I did. I believe this is caused by the mod “Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes” (WACCF) since that mod’s plugin changes body partitions for many (all?) vanilla robes - and we have not patched it for these meshes. Don’t worry about this for now. We will talk about all of that stuff later, and you’ll get an understanding of how to fix this in both the NIF and the plugin as we progress through these tutorials.
