Jakes Bejoy is an Indian film Music Composer, primarily known for his work in Malayalam cinema, along with Tamil and Telugu films. His latest releases in Malayalam both Thudarum and Lokah have topped the charts, and he has received widespread acclaim for his body of work. He is arguably one of the best music composers in Malayalam Cinema. His songs have been big hits as this year. The songs from Officer on Duty too have topped the charts in 2025. the title track of Lokah: Chapter1 Chandra is a bit hit. He has experimented with new musicians like Jyoti Nooran, Sid Sriram, Zeba Tommy and several others. Malayalam Cinema boast of a wide repertoire of talented musicians like Gopi Sunder, Shaan Rehmaan, Bijibal, Sushin Shyam, Justin Varghese, and Hesham Abdul Wahad
Jakes made his debut as a film composer with the Malayalam thriller Angels (2014) and has since established himself as a prominent film composer in Indian cinema. He is also known for his exemplary talent in creating Background Scores for movies.
Jakes Bejoy is trained in Carnatic music. Born in Kerala, India, he attained a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, then Bejoy earned his master's degree in music science and technology from Stanford University, USA.
In 2013, Bejoy moved back to India to pursue more film composing work and received an offer to work on the Malayalam film Angels. He has since worked as Music Director and written music for successful Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films such as Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, Ranam, Queen, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, Monsoon Mangoes, and more recently, box-office record holders like Thudarum and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.
