Special Trains operate on certain Saturdays and other days throughout the year
– These Special Events include:
Night Trains (October - February )
Circus Trains (April and September)
Military Trains (in May - around Memorial Day)
Spooky Trains (in October - around Halloween )
Holiday / Night Trains - November through February

The Layouts and Trains in the video

The Layouts in the Minie-Sota Gallery at the Museum
The Gallery off the rear part of the Museum has:
a large N Scale layout The Sogn Valley -
a large HO layout - The Missabe Terminal and;
several smaller HO and N scale layouts on display.

Rock Island - SD-40-2 SD-40-2 with freight train passes a Northstar Commuter Train on a special run to St. Paul - stopped at Dayton's Bluff

Northern Pacific - 4-8-4 A-Class Northern Steam Locomotive pulling freight train along the river
Great Northern - Alco FA-1 / FA-1 pulling a freight train across the Mississippi River
Minnesota Commercial – RS-2 pulls a switch run across a bridge as a Duluth Missabe & Iron Range Alco DL-600b pulls a special passenger train across the river
Chicago Burlington & Quincy 4-8-4 O-5a Northern steam locomotive pulls a passenger train across the Stone Arch bridge in Minneapolis
Northern Pacific - F7-A / F-7B takes a passenger train into the depot
Canadian Pacific - EMD SD-70Aae / SD-70ae in special paint schemes honoring the military with a freight train next to the river
Great Northern - U-25B pulls a local freight through town.
NOTE The O Scale Two Rail layout is the centerpiece of the museum
It was originally constructed after in the 1940s at the St. Paul Union Depot In the 1980s It was moved to Bandana Square and then moved again to the museum's current location

Lionel - 6-8-6 turbine steam locomotive pulls a freight

Large Lionel “Corrigan” Layout
Lionel - Milwaukee Road - General Electric EP-5 electric loco pulls the freight train
Chicago & NorthWestern C40-8 pulls a commuter passenger train
Milwaukee Road - 0-4-0 steam switch engine pulls a switch run

G “Garden” Gauge 2-6-0 Mogul type steam locomotive pulls a local passenger train around the railroad

The Lego train layout is shown next - Everything on the layout is constructed of actual Lego pieces including the trains

The Lego Train Club Members are very creative in creating people, buildings, trains, models, cars - everything - They also have a whimsical side and you will see some humerus scenes

The Children's Area has many different layouts for the girls and boys to operate as well as work tables to create and build models

There is a LEGO Work Area and Thomas the Tank Trains to run as well.
