Portaband Saw Blade Welding Automation with Fanuc LR Mate 200iD robots

Описание: Ever wonder how band saw blades are made?

Shown here is one way that we automated a blade welding process using three Fanuc LR-Mate Robots.
The automated system consists of a blade shear, a looping station with robotic vision guidance for aligning band ends, a flash welder, an annealer, and a grinding station.
Robot one picks one end of the blade, and using vision, aligns it to the second end before transferring it to the weld station. Robot two is used for blade transfer to the dual grinding stations. The third robot, with an air grinder tool, removes the welding burr and grinds the weld down for a seamless surface.
Finished blade coils are automatically dispensed out of the system for packaging.
