About Paru-Parong Bukid
‘’Paru-Parong Bukid’’ is a beloved Filipino Traditional song. Few people know that this popular Traditional song from the Tagalog region was actually a translation of the Spanish original “Mariposa Bella’’, which is written in 1890’s. “Paru-Parong Bukid’’ roughly translates to Butterfly Field—tells us about a girl getting ready for a night out. It describes her frilly gown, fan, hair comb, and the sensual way she walks.
