"المُقيت" اسمٌ من أسماء الله الحسنى، ورد به القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية، ويقع هذا الاسم بين «معنًى» يقتضيه القياس، وهو: القُوت، ومعنًى آخر يقتضيه السماع وهو: المقتدر والشاهد. ويخلص العلماء إلى أنَّ «المُقيت» اسمًا من أسماءِ الله الحُسنَى ليس له إلَّا دلالة واحدة، هي: دلالة مصدر الاشتقاق على ما اشْتُقَّ منه، وهو «القيام بأقوات الخلق»، فهو خالقها وموصلها.

The name 'Al-Muqeet' is one of the beautiful names of Allah, mentioned in the Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah. This name has two meanings: one is derived by analogy, which is 'the Sustainer' or 'the Provider,' and another established by usage, which is 'the All-Capable and Witness.' Scholars conclude that 'Al-Muqeet,' as one of Allah's names, has only one connotation: the meaning derived from its root, referring to 'the sustaining and nourishing of creation,' knowing that Allah is their Creator and Provider.
