Young Thug Judge Denies Mistrial, Doesn't Allow State to Continue Questioning Witness

Описание: Judge Paige Reese Whitaker denied Yak Gotti defense attorney Doug Weinstein's motion for a mistrial, after a retired detective discussed Gotti being out of prison. Judge Whitaker made the ruling based on the jury having knowledge of him being a convicted felon based on one of his charges. However, the judge did not allow the state to continue to question the detective.

Young Thug faces nearly a dozen charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, participation in criminal street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act. The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.
