🚀 Welcome to Day 09 of my 100 Days – 100 Arduino Projects Challenge!
In today’s project, we are building an Automatic Street Light System using an LDR sensor and Arduino.
This system automatically turns the street light ON when it gets dark and turns it OFF when there is daylight. This technology is widely used in smart cities and energy-saving systems.
Automatic street lighting helps reduce electricity consumption and ensures lights are only used when necessary.
⸻
🔧 Components Used
• Arduino UNO
• LDR (Light Dependent Resistor)
• 10kΩ Resistor
• LED (Street Light Simulation)
• 220Ω Resistor
• Breadboard
• Jumper Wires
⸻
🟢 Circuit Connections
LDR Circuit:
• LDR → 5V
• Other LDR leg → A0
• 10k resistor from A0 → GND
LED:
• LED (+) → Pin 9
• LED (–) → 220Ω → GND
⸻
💡 What You Will Learn
• How LDR sensors detect light
• How analogRead() works
• How automatic lighting systems work
• Basic smart city concept

🔎 How It Works
LDR resistance changes with light.
Bright Light → High analog value
Dark → Low analog value
When the value goes below 500, the LED turns ON automatically.
