🚀 Welcome to Day 08 of my 100 Days – 100 Arduino Projects Challenge!
In today’s project, we are building an Automatic Night Lamp using an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) and Arduino.
This system automatically turns ON the LED when it gets dark and turns OFF the LED when there is light.
LDR sensors are commonly used in:
• Automatic street lights
• Smart home lighting
• Solar garden lights
• Energy saving systems
This project helps beginners understand analog sensors and real-world automation.
⸻
🔧 Components Used
• Arduino UNO
• LDR (Light Dependent Resistor)
• 10kΩ Resistor
• LED
• 220Ω Resistor
• Breadboard
• Jumper Wires
⸻
🟢 Circuit Connections
LDR Circuit:
• LDR → 5V
• Other LDR leg → A0 + 10k resistor to GND
LED:
• LED (+) → Pin 8
• LED (–) → 220Ω → GND
⸻
💡 What You Will Learn
• What is LDR sensor
• How analogRead() works
• Light detection system
• Basic automation project
💻 Source Code.

🔎 How It Works
analogRead() reads values from 0 – 1023
Example:
Bright light → Higher value
Dark → Lower value
So when the value drops below 500, the LED turns ON.
