The End Game TKL. Geon Works F1-8X v2 Keyboard Review!

Описание: The F1-8X has been on my radar for quite awhile now. With TKL's being one of my favorite layouts, I knew I just had to obtain one for the collection. I'm proud to say that we've finally acquired one that is in OUTSTANDING CONDITION. It was a pretty penny to say the least, but from my experiences with things thus far... it's been worth every cent. Let's get straight into things.

The F1-8X v2 is a second iteration of the well known F1-8X from Geon Works. A very reputable, and well trusted company in Korea. Known for their top of the line keyboard such as the "Frog" TKL and mini, F2-84, Glare TKL, as well as the F1-8X v1 and now v2. In my opinion the F1-8X v2 isn't anything too flashy, as it's design is more along the lines of simplicity. Simple can be extremely classy in my opinion when done correctly, and Geon Works knocks things out of the park. With a quality that you can feel at touch, as it's extremely consistent with the anodization, and a sound you can appreciate, given its materials used. The F1-8X v2 features 6 raw copper internal weights, with the upper right cut out exclusively on the v2 in the event you chose to opt for a Db otherwise known as a daughterboard. The weights truly add a sense of heft to the board and in my opinion is a huge factor in reducing the hollowness that can be found in a lot of boards. The o-ring mounting system in this fashion is a first for me as I'm used to having things wrap around the internals. I feel the o-rings do a fantastic job with giving a nice feel on the typing experience, as well as maintaining a great sound without the need of added force breaks that some boards may require.

While I've had the chance to try multiple TKL's The F1-8X v2 is by far my favorite. While the board isn't as flashy as some, I find a ton of enjoyment in the simplicity of this board. The sound of this board is like no other when paired with Cherry switches from my experiences with F1, and from what I constantly hear in sound tests with the F1. With the demand being so high for Geon products, I can finally understand why. There's a hype behind Geon boards, and it's for a good reason. Good quality control, outstanding sounds, with a very simple, yet elegant look.
