Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Provence, France
Drove from our rental near Saint-Remy through L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and checked out the source of the river. A quick walk along a wide trail following the river brings you to the source, a great cavern that the river rises from. We couldn't quite reach the source as the end of the trail was closed due to recent rockfalls from the cliffs above. We look forward to seeing the town again in the summer season.
We returned to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Here the river is tamed into canals around an island featuring shops, restaurants, churches, and homes. Our late lunch was excellent.
Navigation apps seemed determined to put us on back roads, but that's the best way to see the countryside.
