Master The Classics: Bee's Knees

Описание: The Bee Knees is a prohibition era cocktail widely thought of as existing to mask the horrible flavor and odor of bathtub gins.

The Phrase "Bees Knees" to indicate something small and insignificant, but as time wore on the phrase evolved to indicate something that was the best or "The Height of Excellence".

During this strange time in American history, there were a lot of nonsensical phrases people apparently said which includes: The Cat's Pajamas, The eel's ankle, the elephant's instep, the snake's hip...etc. All pairing an animal with body parts they don't have or clothing they don't wear. Strange. I won't bother going into what it all means.

Most great prohibition era cocktails were created in Europe because when prohibition hit the States, a lot of bartenders found themselves immigrating to Europe to ply their trade. This one though is one of a handful that were developed in the U.S.
