This is Fourteen Eighteen Coffee Shop, located in downtown Plano. I love their mission, which is to create an experience that connects people in a warm environment, and it truly is very warm and welcoming. I’ve had their tea and it is really good. I love the font they use for their business name. The color of the building really caught my eye.

I love coffee shops. One of my favorite things to do is either go to a coffee shop alone or go with a friend or my hubby. I feel like it’s a place to connect with others or simply recharge your batteries. That is, if you are not an introvert, that might not work as well .

I’m thinking about doing a sketching series on coffee shops, starting in the Dallas area and then maybe other cities and states. I’d love to hear about your favorite coffee shops. Is there one you’d like to see painted?

This is a tiny painting on 4x5 inch watercolor paper, and it’s a loose painting, very loose. It’s so hard to get all the details in such a small painting, so I’m trying to decide what size I want to do the series in. Maybe an 8x8 would be good. The bigger it is, the longer it might take. I think for this series, at least initially, it might just be a painting of the building and not a full scene, since that could take much longer.
