In this video I show you an initial rounded back and bent knee set up position for Mayurasana that helps you get your elbows up into your belly and your weight forward. Next you walk your feet back one at a time, straighten the legs, and then lift one leg off the ground at a time. This exercise builds strength and makes it possible for you to get the forward feeling that is required to get both feet off the ground and to balance in the position.
Lastly we go a little further by stepping up on a block and also by pressing the feet into the wall to further explore achieving the posture.
