Toshiya is the charismatic bassist of the legendary Japanese metal band Dir En Grey. Born on March 31, 1977, in Nagano, Japan, Toshiya is known for his intense stage presence, stylish aesthetic, and grooving, aggressive bass lines that anchor the band’s dark, complex sound.
Joining Dir En Grey in 1997, Toshiya helped the band evolve from visual kei origins into a globally respected avant-garde metal act. His versatile playing and emotional performance style have made him a fan favorite across the world.
