Taiji Sawada (沢田 泰司), best known simply as Taiji, was a legendary bassist and songwriter in X Japan, one of Japan’s most influential visual kei and heavy metal bands. Born on July 12, 1966, in Chiba, Japan, Taiji played with X Japan from 1986 to 1992 and was known for his powerful stage presence, complex bass techniques, and contribution to the band’s early sound.
HEATH, born Hiroshi Morie, was the longtime bassist of X Japan, joining the band in 1992 following Taiji’s departure. Born on January 22, 1968, in Hyogo, Japan, HEATH became a fan favorite for his calm yet commanding stage presence, solid bass foundation, and role in the band’s legendary reunion in the 2000s.
