Suede, 'Obsessions' @ Cliffs Pavilion, Southend, 20.02.26

Описание: This was the second last show of the UK tour but my last show of it. I wanted to go out on a high at a smaller venue and boy, did I ever! For me, it was the most Brett action I've ever had at a show! It was absolutely scream-inducing. We also had the best queuing situation ever in that the Cliffs Pavilion had an all-day cafe that never closed, meaning we could sit inside protected from the wind, rain and cold and just relaxedly chat to each other. Superb.

On to the gig and what I decided to record. Well, it was probably going to be the Brett + Neil duo song as I'm always jumping and dancing to most others! Now, I had heard this song being soundchecked when I went to the loo, so I figured it was coming later. This is one of the weakest songs in the entire rich, intense Suede catalogue. But I suppose lyrically, it isn't too bad and stripped back like this, it sounds better than the instrumentation on A New Morning (*shudders*). I would have preferred by far any other b-side or rarly played song but I love when Brett takes out his ear piece and sings without a mic for a bit. I also love his big beautiful smile towards the end of the performance. Swoon!
