This was the second last show of the UK tour but my last show of it. I wanted to go out on a high at a smaller venue and boy, did I ever! For me, it was the most Brett action I've ever had at a show! It was absolutely scream-inducing. We also had the best queuing situation ever in that the Cliffs Pavilion had an all-day cafe that never closed, meaning we could sit inside protected from the wind, rain and cold and just relaxedly chat to each other. Superb.
On to the gig and what I decided to record. I had a great view just to the right of the Brett steps. When this song started, with just the guitar quietly coming in, it took me a minute to figure out what song this was. Aha! We expected another Dog Man Star song that hadn't been played yet on the tour, and this was one of two left to play. It is such a haunting song in sound and lyrics. Simon plays with mallets. The colour washing in blue of the stage matched so well. There's a point in this video where you can only see Mat playing bass clearly as the rest of the band are awash in smoke and blue. I think I have heard this song live before, but as a piano + Brett performance only, not with a full band so what a treat.
