Learning Intermediate Back bends - Level 4 yoga class

I love how a good well rounded back bend class makes me feel, both physically and emotionally! This class covers some of the basic back bends popular in yoga classes with some general instruction. I also use half lotus (Ardha Padmasana) to begin opening the body properly to achieve depth of the tailbone early in the sequence.

Basic explanation of class levels:
Level 1: Basic standing poses and intro. to Shoulder Stand.
Level 2: Standing poses continued, beginning back bends and forward bends and intro. to Headstand.
Level 3: Introduction of Hand Stand and Forearm balance and beginning Shoulder Stand variations.
Level 4: Learning Padmasana (lotus pose), full back bend and arm balances plus beginning Head Stand variations.
Level 5: Continuation and deepening of all previous poses and categories.
