Описание: 📍 Gaya becomes Gaya Jee – A historic decision by the Nitish Kumar government has officially changed the name of the ancient city Gaya to Gaya Jee.
"Gaya" is not enough, it must be addressed as "Gaya Jee".
Adding a respectful suffix to one of India’s most sacred and culturally rich cities. The mythological, religious, and cultural significance of Gaya, the land where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment, where Lord Vishnu's footprints (Vishnupad Temple) are worshipped, and where Lord Ram performed the sacred ritual of 'Pind Daan' for his father Dasharatha.

In 2022, The Gaya Municipal Corporation had a proposal to rename the city to Gaya Jee. Now, on 16 May 2025 Bihar Cabinet meeting approved the new name .
