Município da província de Sevilha, em Espanha, com cerca de 14000 habitantes, localizado a 25 k km da capital Sevilha e no km 0 da estrada intercomunal A-472. No passado Sanlucar la Mayor foi habitado por por diferentes civilizações. Na época romana chamavam a cidade de Lucus Solis, (o lugar do sol), e existia um templo dedicado ao culto do sol.
Na época árabe chamavam-na Al-bayda (a Branca). Em 1251 foi conquistada pelos cristãos e passou a fazer parte do reino de Sevilha.
O centro histórico foi declarado Sítio de Interesse Cultural Andaluz e incluído na Rota Al-Mutamid. Do seu património destaca-se: vestígios da muralha árabe, igrejas medievais e fazendas históricas

Municipality in the province of Seville, in Spain, with around 14,000 inhabitants, located 25 km from the capital Seville and at km 0 of the A-472 intercommunal road. In the past Sanlucar la Mayor was inhabited by different civilizations. In Roman times they called the city Lucus Solis, (the place of the sun), and there was a temple dedicated to the cult of the sun.
In Arab times they called her Al-bayda (the White). In 1251 it was conquered by the Christians and became part of the kingdom of Seville.
The historic center was declared a Site of Andalusian Cultural Interest and included on the Al-Mutamid Route. Its heritage highlights: remains of the Arab wall, medieval churches and historic farms
