In this lesson, I’ll show you how to steal one line and make it work through the tune by keeping the rhythm exactly the same — and changing only the target notes.

I demonstrate the same structure in multiple places so you can hear how one idea becomes many lines (without memorizing new shapes).

My approach: keep the rhythm fixed, aim for clear targets, and use simple approach tones so the line still sounds connected to the harmony.

Play it 3 times with the exact same rhythm

Each time, change only the target note (same approach shape)

Then try the 3-feel grouping (count 1-2 / 1-2-3 / 1-2-3) without changing the pulse
Repeat until it feels musical (not “math”).
