Total: 3.5 days ~ 98 miles ~ 19,764 ft Elev.
Day 1: 5.03 miles 1,427 ft elevation gain
Day 2: 27.67 miles 7,024 ft elevation gain
Day 3: 33.02 miles 6,529 ft elevation gain

Today was a grinder! We started hiking early (5am) to get the miles in. Started off the morning in the dark & fog and with a big climb. What I thought was going to be an “easier” day for elevation turned out to not be the case…I should know this by now with hiking in the mountains, the PCT takes some crazy routes up and over every peak and valley. 🤪 We hit our first 10x10 (10 miles by 10am)! 🤩 Visited the Mike Urich cabin which is where hikers, bikers, SxS’s can go to warm up , hang out and even camp out if needed. it’s right by a big beautiful meadow. Today the bugs got bad enough I had to break out the bug net. At mile 31, with achy feet, we came up over Bear Gap where we knew there was a tent site but it was taken so we had to continue on another two miles to Sheep Lake (which was our original dearinatin anyway) arriving to camp at 9:30pm. The evening skies are so gorgeous! It’s the only way I get to see the sunset, to hike through them, usually we are in our tent and falling asleep before then. 😌 Finished the evening with 33 miles, set up camp and crashed…😴
