Hello, and welcome back to the first zoo on this channel.
In this ninth episode we are building a covered habitat for the wolf who isn't a wolf. The Maned Wolf, even though it looks wolf-like, it’s actually genetically distinct from wolves and foxes.
It belongs to its own unique genus: Chrysocyon, meaning “golden dog.”
They are quite a smelly pooch, marking their territory with urine that smells like skunk spray. Zoos sometimes call this smell “weed wolf” because it resembles cannabis.
