In this tutorial, you will learn, how to design & simulate a WDM-PON i.e, wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network system using Opti system Software just by varying the parameters of different input parameters such as Fiber range, data rate and input power by using different sweep iterations...
You can also vary the data rate and see the received output in terms of Bit error rate (BER) & Q-factor.
A passive optical network (PON) has been designed to deliver broadband Internet access to your home or office by connecting you as a subscriber to your ISP. Depending on where the PON ends, the system will be considered fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC), fiber-to-the-building (FTTB), or fiber-to-the-home (FTTH).
Moreover, the internal system parameters considered during simulation of the model has been included as follows:

Data Rate= 10 Gbps
Optical Fiber Length= 10 Km
CW laser Power= 10 and 12 dBm
CW Frequency= 193.1 and 193.2 THz
WDM Mux & De-Mux Frequency= 193.1 & 193.2 THz
Sequence Length= 128 bits
Sample per bit= 64
Number of samples= 8192

In order to achieve the maximum acceptable Bit error rate (BER) value of 10^-19. You can vary the internal parameters (Fiber range) values between 10 to 50 Km and check the variations in results in terms of Eye diagram & BER values.

In this video you get an idea about how to simulate & design a WDM-PON system and check the results in terms of Eye Diagram , If not getting proper eye diagram then just change the values of parameters to see the variation in the desired output received. If you follow the steps while simulating your circuit the it will definitely help you in saving your time and also help you in better understanding of software.
