Une version toute simple de ce grand standard du jazz né d'une chanson française: Les Feuilles mortes.
This song is the story of an unexpected international success. In 1946, the French poet Jacques Prévert and the composer of Hungarian origin Joseph Kosma met in Paris. Together, they composed the song "Les Feuilles mortes" for Carné's film "The Doors of the Night". The voice regrets lost love and fleeting happiness. The film was not successful, the song never enthused French public, although it was sung on stage by Juliette Gréco and Yves Montand, two stars of French song of that time. But, in 1949, the English translation, "Autumn Leaves", appeared on anglophone stages and the song became the jazz standard we know today. Here I only play the theme that has become so famous.
