Chordplay - Mauro Giuliani's Etude No. 5

Описание: Here's the next episode of Chordplay with a look at the famous 'Etude No.5' from legendary classical guitar composer Mauro Giuliani. I've had a number of requests to feature more classical guitar music, so I figured hitting this rather famous piece would be a nice addition to the mix on the channel, as this piece requires a steady frethand while unveiling an intense chord-based workout.

This lesson also features an initial performance on nylon string guitar at the beginning, but I chose to demonstrate/breakdown this piece using an electric guitar, mainly to show another approach to playing this style of music and to give viewers an eyeful of position markers (i.e. "dots") on the fretboard, which should make learning from this lesson much easier.

As I've mentioned in previous episodes, I studied classical guitar in high school and college and aside from learning how to read music and acquiring a deeper appreciation for classical guitar music and the various composers, I also found most of the music inspiring and technically rewarding, as most of the music I studied (and continue to refine) is challenging to perform and worth the time and effort to work through and strengthen.

There's also something to be said for guitarists that have studied classical guitar, and I know I've been directly inspired by a lot of famous players with a classical guitar background, including Randy Rhoads, Alex Lifeson, Steve Morse, Yngwie Malmsteen, and several others. Their music and creative influence on me sparked my interest/desire to learn more about this elusive and challenging style of music and "chip away" at its overall approach.

This lesson should be a solid challenge for those that are looking for something different to tackle on the guitar, in addition to supplying a great study/exercise that will surely challenge your fingerstyle technique and keep all of your fingers on their tips.
