With GoTo, devices refer to desk phones, conference phones, GoTo Room equipment, and some lesser-used devices like phone adapters. These can be assigned to a specific user or set up as a standalone device. I'll show you how the process works to add both.
Even if you do not assign a device, the user can access the GoTo softphone in the desktop app. This allows them to place and accept calls from their computer.
A device is not activated until a user with a license has been assigned to it.
Before adding a device, you'll also want to know which type of billing your account has. If you have classic GoTo Admin billing, you will be charged for the number of devices on your system. Those with the standard GoTo billing, are billed by licenses.
