Washington D.C., the capital of the United States of America is a beautifully designed city with lots of monuments. It can be an overwhelming place for tourists with so much to see, especially if you are short on time. Let me save you time by taking you on a tour of this great city by running through the major landmarks, and show you how to do the same yourself!
This is an ideal way to see the city's landmarks in the shortest time possible (might even beat getting in and out of subways or cabs!).
Discover Washington DC by running in turbo mode through the city from the DC Union Station via the United States Capitol, the National Mall, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Potomac River, Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial, Tidal Basin, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, The Ellipse, and outside the White House, the home of the US President.
Follow my 9-mile run sped up to a 50 miles per hour pace. Explore the sights along the way on a beautiful DC summer morning, and feel the size of the city and monuments as I'm not skipping any step along the way.
Join me so you can tour the city, relax, and learn a bit about this special city.
Play along for a city tour, or run along your treadmill and explore with me!
Skip ahead to these sights with the timeline below.

The starting point is at Union Station, which can be assessed with Amtrak from other cities, the Washington DC Metro Red line, and multiple bus lines.
The finishing point is outside the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue, with most lines of the Washington DC Metro within 3 blocks.
Here you can find the subway maps for reference:

The whole loop (including taking the metro to the start from the finish) takes approximately 2-2.5 hours.
Alternatively, there are a few bike share companies that can be used conveniently throughout the city to complete the route.
