Beyond the Height-of-Land | 25 Days in the Northern Manitoba Wild - E.19 - Sprayed by a Wolverine: Camped high up on an esker above Manitoba's Seal River, we break camp and portage outdoor gear down to the canoes but not before my brother Ted Baird gets about 20 blackflies in his coffee. Fishing was tough and we came up with nothing on our first few tries, all the seals in the river take their share and high water doesn't help with the fishing either. After some heavy rain, we ran some easy rapids and then spotted a Moose swimming across the river. Not long after that my brother ‪@TheRealTedBaird‬ saw a wolverine and we got out to look for tracks, I followed obvious tracks for a ways until I smelled a strong musk smell and realized the Wolverine sprayed me when it knew I was on its trail. I eventually lost its trail when it went into a swampy area. Finally, we caught some Arctic Grayling and had a nice fish fry once we found a partially-flooded campsite.
