Hello Everyone! I'm Vijaya Nair from The Meraki Explorer.
After spending about 2 weeks in Chennai, I was looking forward to visiting an offbeat place. My host suggested me a place near Chidambaram and along with some friends, I made it to Pichawaram.
Pichawaram has an extensive mangrove Forest and that is where Paddle for Future is located. It is run by Kumaran Mahalingam who has done expeditions over the world and is a Limca record holder. Being a nature lover, he wanted to introduce people to the concept of kayaking and stand up paddle.
Kayaking is a recognized sport under a Olympic category. Kayaking is an excellent upper body workout. This travel vlog was shot on December 20th 2019 as I spent a few days with strangers who later became friends at this beautiful and calm place. Paddle for Future is located on a remote place, about 4 hours from Chennai and has a variety of birds such as pelicans, cranes, kingfishers and some birds that I am unable to name 😅
